Trail A2 - Forests and ancient hamlets on Grezzana's hills

A charming trail between forests, ancient hamlets and symbols of the Grezzana territory. Medium gradient with sections on paved and dirt roads, and well-marked trails within the hillside forests.

Length: 9 km

Difference in altitude: 425 mt

Travel time (hours): 2:40

Suitable for: everyone

Trail description

Starting from the town's park behind the parish church, continue north along Via Ponte Vecchio and Via Fossà, then follow Viale dell'Industria and Via Pozzo, until it joins the biking trail along the provincial road. Continue north to reach Orè's elevated junction, where you will leave the biking trail to continue along the CAI trail 271A, going uphill. Climb along the valley, alongside the small Sant'Antonio church, then cross a nice broad-leafed tree forest southward. This portion of the trail is especially charming, and it runs alongside old abandoned quarries. The hill continues along the CAI trail 271, which, after crossing a bright meadow, joins an easy dirt road in the forest, until reaching the Grezzana-Montecchio provincial road. From Case Vecchie, continue along the CAI trail southward, flanking a terraced vineyard first, and then west again, leaving the white/red signs, along a meadow, and crossing a nice forest, with small clearings. Continue downhill until you get back on the provincial road, then endure a slight climb up to the first hairpin turn, until you join the CAI trail that crosses Coatte and then continues until you get back to Grezzana's starting point, in the residential district.

Stages of the trail:
Grezzana (168m) - Orè (225m) - Bivio Falasco (295m) - Case Vecchie (485m) - Coatte (345m) - Grezzana (168m)
